FJÄLLRÄVEN SEATTLE
Provided: Full Service Architecture + Interior Design
Location: Seattle, WA
Completed: Spring 2019

The Fjällräven outdoor brand focuses on simplicity and practicality in their products, with materials made to last, and in-store services for product repair and maintenance.
The space maximizes the use of daylight with open window displays, utilizes the high ceilings to highlight the colorful Kånken backpacks, and dedicates the large corner window to the tailor shop-emphasizing the brand’s commitment to repair over replacement.
The new flagship merges Swedish design inspired by the Fjällräven brand heritage with the existing Doug Fir heavy timber structure and existing steel A-frames, added to the building for stability during seismic events. White ash wood, important to the brand and Swedish design, was used for custom displays and table surfaces throughout the store, including the tall ash wall at the center of the space, designed to resemble the axe-hewn logs of a traditional Swedish cabin.
