FREEHILL GARAGE
Provided: Architecture + General Contracting
Location: Boulder, CO
Completed: 2001

The client retreats to the Garage to work on his racing cars. As a professional photographer, he also uses the space as a staging area for his studio. For privacy, the garage closes down; views focused only on sky or trees at specified spots. The prefabricated shell is incised and inserted with fiberglass panels. End walls are framed with reclaimed lumber, steel, and colored glass. Small translucent areas of the north and south walls light up at night. The Garage serves its function without forgoing imagination.
