The person who lived here decades ago was both a bootlegger and herbalist. He had built much of the house and random out-buildings with his own two hands. His resourceful, or patchwork, methods lent to the character of this dilapidated home. It soon inspired the design direction.

The dwelling in this beautiful canyon is rehabilitated for the new owner, a percussionist. Out-buildings convert to sleeping quarters for traveling musicians. The living space will someday adapt to a recording studio. The upper floor looks onto unspoiled open space. Ceramic jugs of dubious moonshine may still be buried on site.
